Color & Texture in Abstract Painting

Using Golden
acrylic paints, collage, and a variety of texture mediums, participants will
learn different approaches to painting abstracts. With very little
subject-matter on which to focus, abstraction requires a strong understanding of
composition related to color, texture, shape, and line. The work of well-known
abstract painters, such as Hans Hofmann, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns,
Willem De Kooning, and Kurt Schwitters will act as inspiration. Daily
demonstrations and lots of hands-on practice. Come prepared to experiment! Some
prior acrylic painting experience helpful.
